Welcome to our Newsletter for January 2009
A Happy New Year to you all. I wish you good health and happiness.
This year the Chinese New Year falls on the 26th January and there will be big celebrations in Trafalgar Square on the 1st February.
This is the Year of the Ox, which means a lot of hard ploughing for us all, and just about sums up the present mood of the country with the credit crunch and looming recession.
Just after Christmas I received a phone call from one of my previous tenants, who moved into his own place 3 years ago. It was surprise, but very nice to hear from him. He asked if I could take on the management of his flat and let it out for him as he was going to work in the United Nations in New York, USA. I felt very honoured to be asked. Watch this space for details of his one-bedroom flat in Bayswater.
Kind regards
Hanue

How to make your hot water bottle last longer
Are you unhappy about smelly shoes?
To remove ingrained stains on the chopping board
Put a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a new hot water bottle before use. This ensures added life for the bottle, as the oil protects the rubber.
To freshen up smelly shoes, place a few drops of your favourite aromatherapy oil on an old nail brush and use it to brush the insoles. I find lemongrass and lavender oils work a treat.
If you find it difficult to get rid of ingrained stains on your chopping board, sprinkle a little sea salt over the surface and then scrub with half a lemon it will shift the stains in an instant.
